THE BIO

Ashley Wilburn is a native of Hagerstown in Maryland. She graduated from North Hagerstown High School where she completed her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's legal practice is centered around family law. She has a love for it. She focuses a majority of her practice on divorce cases, alimony disputes the distribution of marital property child custody battles child support arrangements, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, post-divorce enforcement issues as well as step-parent and private party adoptions and issues involving children's welfare. In addition to family law, Ashley also handles estate planning matters, including probate, wills, trusts and estate administration along with commercial contract, civil litigation cases. Ashley has been a court-appointed mediator since 2019 she assists parties in helping them resolve their matters without needing court involvement. In addition to mediation mandated by the court, Ashley also mediates in private cases for people who want to stay clear of the litigation and court process.

After having completed her undergraduate studies at Loyola University of Maryland, where she received dual Bachelor's degrees in History and Political Science, Ashley pursued her legal education at Western New England University School of Law. She graduated in 2013 and was ranked among the top 10 students of her class. During her time in law school, Ashley served as a Note Editor for the esteemed Western New England Law Review, showcasing her commitment to legal research and scholarship.

Following the completion of her law degree, Ashley embarked on a clerkship journey, working for notable jurists in Connecticut and Maryland. She had the pleasure of working as a law clerk for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott at the Connecticut Appellate Court. In 2014, she returned to Hagerstown, Maryland, to serve as an attorney for the Honorable M. Kenneth Long, Washington County Circuit Court. Ashley joined Poole & Kane P.A. in 2015 as an associate attorney. As an associate attorney. Her primary role in the firm was to represent the Washington County Department of Social Services in matters involving child welfare. Through her dedicated efforts, Ashley played a vital role in helping children who were victims of neglect or abuse at from their parents or caregivers. Her commitment to social injustice extended beyond her legal career as she was an active member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force. She worked tirelessly to increase awareness about human trafficking within the tri-state region.

In 2017, she was a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the fields of family law such as divorce child support, custody and guardianships as well as estate planning - wills, trusts and powers of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxy - and mediation.

Ashley established Wilburn Law Office, LLC in 2023. Ashley founded Wilburn Law Office, LLC with a commitment to providing a personalized approach to every client's requirements.
